With 1088 points accrued through the qualifying runs, UM::A finished in 3rd place and has qualified for the finals! It was a long day that started ominously when our boat had severe network problems during the first run. We were stuck on the dock for about 10-15 minutes, waiting impatiently as Anthony attempted to get Serenity running. However when she did finally get going, she managed to clear 8 buoy pairs with ease, and reached the blue buoy. She did however get stuck on blue buoy, and we had to call it quits then on our first qualifying run. A hurried decision was made to go to a tethered LAN connection for our second qualifying run This decision proved crucial as we had a very successful second run, where Serenity cruised through all 10 buoy pairs, reaching the blue buoy. There the old demons came back and we ended up stuck on the blue buoy once more, a problem that we are now certain can be easily fixed. Given our excellent results, we're hoping that with a long night of testing and practice, we can put up a good show tomorrow!
